The World Entrepreneurship Summit 2008
was a splendid event. It brought together
thought leaders, business leaders, policy
makers and academics from around the
world to set the agenda for action around
entrepreneurs and their role in enabling sustainable economic development.
The forum provided an innovative mix of
formal presentations from top business
leaders and politicians, debates, master
classes from the world’s leading
entrepreneurs, open space conferencing,
speed networking and individual
workshops and seminars. The goal was
to provide a unique combination of
people, thinking, ideas, contacts and
actions which was rightly achieved.
Hosted in London by Dr Rebecca Harding,
Founder of Delta Economics, the summit
attracted over 600 senior people from
business, policy and academic
backgrounds from over 40 countries
around the world. Dr Harding who used
the summit to restate her belief that
entrepreneurs are key to a sustainable
future also
affirmed that the Summit will ensure that
entrepreneurs are placed at the heart of
government policies.
Foreign Investment Network, a UK based
investment consulting and publishing firm
used the occasion to confer awards on
organizations and individuals that have
contributed significantly to
entrepreneurship evelopment in their
chosen fields.
